Birthday card

April 19, 2009

A while back I went to a scrapbook and stamp fair and bought some stuff. Or a lot of stuff (hence the yarn purchase ban). I mainly bought stamps and ink to colour paper. This is what I’ve done so far:

It’s not too difficult and quite quick, but I think I’ll need a bit moore practise before going ahead with the scrapbook project which it is intended for.

A new year

January 1, 2009

Another year has swooshed by with the speed of light. The last couple of months has been tough due to work. A lot of energy went into write and defend my thesis. I’ve been completely drained of energy and creative spirits have been low. However, the defence went well and I now have a new degree and with some well needed rest during the holidays I’m starting to go back to my old happy self.

A brand new year with new and old projects to work on, but first lets reveal what I have been working on.

In the above image is my Miyuki pig. It was quite fiddly but fun. It was bought like a kit with instructions and all necessary beads.

I’ve also finished two hats but I’ll put them in a separate post.

Multiple necklaces

June 16, 2008

There’s not been much bloggable progress on the WIPs. That said it does not mean I haven’t been knitting so in due time there will be actual knitting in the posts again. Until then … some more jewelry.

Like last time I’ve used kits from Panduro. Really neat if you don’t want to increase the amount of beads already packed to the brim in a rather large box.

A blue linen necklace gifted to a friend. Luckily I picked the right color. These types of necklaces are great because they are so versatile. The pictures show two ways to wear it. I will do some for myself in another color soon I think.

A turquoise/green necklace for me. I like these types of necklaces, with the clasp in the front.

The necklaces are modeled by my new helper, miss Jay. I inherited her after my grandmother. My grandmother was a very creative person. She was a great seamstress and painter but did all sorts of other crafts as well, e.g knitting.

Home sweet home!

June 6, 2008

Five Fridays in a row abroad! It was great both in California and in France but it sure is nice being home again. There’s not much to show on the knitting front. I have been knitting but since I’ve had startitis there’s been knitting on too many fronts to have any progress to show. So, I’ve decided to try and only knit on things I’ve already started. Shouldn’t be a problem….there’s plenty to choose from.

Alongside the startitis I’ve also been very materialistic as of late. Seen in the picture below is my new spindle. It’s a Kundert spindle bought from Spinspiration, together with some wool (don’t remember what it is …). I’ve also joined the fiber club for June to August. Can’t wait to get the fibers!

Tomorrow is my grandmother’s 80th birthday. I made her a necklace. It’s Manganum from Panduro. I also bought an embossing ink pad and some stamps with flowers to make a card. The card is made with chalks on the motif stamped with the embossing ink.

Scrapbook supplies shopping

March 31, 2008

There was a scrapbook and stamp fair in town this weekend. I went on Saturday for a couple of hours. The place was packed with people. One of the exhibitors, Kortmakaren, had demos during the day where you could try out different techniques. It was really fun. I tried embossing (white tag with pink flower), DTP-technique or direct to paper (purple with black motifs) and last it was dry chalks (blue butterflies).

I bought some stuff for paper cutting so I can start my scrapbook album.

The theme for the album is already set. Want to give a guess?
